General Atomics AeroTec Systems delivers Legacy 650 "virtually new" in record time to Indian customer after extensive work

When scheduled maintenance work is due on business jets, excellent know-how and professional maintenance work are in demand. Over many decades, the Business Jet unit of General Atomics AeroTec Systems (GA-ATS) has established itself as a trusted partner and service provider for private and business customers worldwide. The most recent example: After extensive work a brand-new-looking Embraer Legacy 650 has just been handed over to an Indian customer on time.

The very challenging project around the Legacy 650 had been started in April this year. The Business Aviation MRO team of General Atomics AeroTec Systems, in cooperation with the project partners AeroVisto, QCM, Aircraft lighting international and Alamo Engineering, once again mastered a large work package and thus made the customer from India more than happy.

Our customer, Mr. Anil Kuma Singh, Managing Director of APCO Infratech - India, was very pleased with the outcome: "The paint job and technical execution are excellent. I was particularly impressed that even the finest details of the paint job were executed precisely with desired sharpness and quality. My sincere appreciation to entire team for coming up with the interior finishes particularly the  wood veneer, polishing and leather work, executed exactly the way it was envisaged at the beginning of project."

Starting with a "VIP Exterior Paint⁺" and the resulting outstanding design, a complete "Cabin Refurbishment" was also carried out using the finest wood and leather materials. Also implemented and approved for the first time on the Legacy 650 is an "Ionizer Air & Surface Purification System" that provides an instantly clean, safe and healthy interior by eliminating odors, viruses and allergens. And finally, "Cabin Mood Lighting" with sunrise and sunset scenarios has also been installed.
It can be easily operated and controlled with a mobile app.

Scheduled Maintenance

The GA-ATS Business Aviation team offers solution combinations of maintenance, service bulletin (SB), avionics and systems upgrades, cabin redesign and outfitting, aircraft painting and color design. The Part 145 maintenance facility offers a wide variety of services also includes complex structural repairs, complete aircraft painting according to individual wishes of the customer, upgrades and modifications and component maintenance, including life rafts.

One-Stop-Shop in Oberpfaffenhofen

The specialists from Oberpfaffenhofen sum up their concept as a one-stop-shop. Customers receive maximum service with minimum downtime at a single location. In addition, the business unit offers expert support and advice for AOG events or pre-purchase inspections ("PPI"). General Atomics AeroTec Systems specialists are recognized partners in MRO and certification of aircraft components as well.

Authorized and certified

GA-ATS Business Aviation is an authorized service center for Embraer aircraft and is certified by several international civil aviation authorities to service Bombardier business jets - in addition to EASA Part 145 MRO approval for Embraer and Bombardier, GA-ATS also holds the Design and Manufacture Approval, EASA Part 21J Design Organization Approval (DOA) and Part 21G Production Organization Approval.
